Alumni in Action: Brandon Wall

Brandon Wall

Class: Lambda
Graduated: 2014

Just a year past graduation, Brandon became a sixth grade Science and English teacher for two different groups of students at Lawson Middle School in Cupertino. Brandon was hired as an intern teacher (a teacher in the process of their credential) and quickly worked his way up through student-teaching to take on a full-time position. According to Brandon, his goal is to "not only teach content, but to further enhance each student as a respectful individual."

Brandon recommends that anyone interested in teaching should begin with an in-classroom internship. As a cal-teach intern for two years at UCSC, Brandon realized how much he enjoyed working with students. He admonishes future educators, however, that you must truly enjoy teaching before applying yourself to it, as it is oftentimes an over-worked and under-payed profession.
